Patriarchy as a means for societal survival.
An interesting commentary on the functionality of patriarchy in the preservation of a society. It’s interesting to look at demographic trends in Europe as a means to explaining the rise of Islam there - native Europeans have dramatically smaller birth rates, while immigrants reproduce much more frequently. The historical comparison to Rome presents interesting insights into both the causes and effects that the breakdown of the family as a means of reproduction and thus societal longevity.
